US Banks May Now Hold Customer Crypto-Currencies as Custodian

The United States Office of the Comptroller of Currency (OCC) announced today that it has clarified that federally chartered U.S. banks and thrifts may hold crypto-currency assets on behalf of customers.  In its statement, the OCC acknowledged the "increasingly digitized" financial markets and made clear that it considers crypto-currency assets as important and now officially recognized.  We believe this announcement can only increase global adoption.
