Eric Neal | Director of Energy Planning
Eric has over 15 years of experience in the utility space, having focused on utility project economics, energy markets, resource planning, strategic planning, economic development, utility finance, thermal engineering, project RFPs, and contested case regulatory proceedings.
Eric was most recently the Manager of Resource Development at Alliant Energy, where he was continuously employed from 2007 to 2022. In this role, he led development of preliminary engineering, RFP commercial packages, customer offtake agreements and regulatory strategy for CHP proposals totaling over $500 million. Eric also led economic development engagements with green hydrogen prospects.
Prior to Resource Development Eric led the economic justification of capital projects at Alliant’s Wisconsin utility and secured stakeholder alignment. This work resulted in approval of over $1 billion in capex across 2.5 GW of new and existing resources. Eric also wrote testimony for and was the lead economic witness in each of the regulatory dockets.
Eric earned his B.S.M.E. from Milwaukee School of Engineering and his MBA from Edgewood College.
